# A clearer property plan.

A practical starting point for discussing access, visibility, patrol coverage, and communication.

## What should a property security review cover?

A property security review should cover entrances, authorized access, lighting, visibility, operating hours, patrol priorities, and communication. Start with observed conditions and recurring concerns, then agree coverage duties, reporting expectations, and who can approve changes.

## Look at entrances and boundaries

Identify pedestrian entrances, gates, loading areas, and vehicle access. Check who authorizes visitors and vendors, and how after-hours access is handled.

## Review lighting and visibility

Note lighting outages, obscured sightlines, and landscaping or stored materials that limit visibility. Share maintenance observations with the appropriate property contact.

## Match coverage to activity

Discuss opening and closing hours, tenant schedules, deliveries, and recurring concerns. Use those details to consider a dedicated guard, mobile patrol, or a combination.

## Check the communication plan

Confirm the property manager’s direct Steadfast contact, the contact instructions for 24-hour dispatch, incident documentation, and the property-specific escalation tree. Define when management needs to be involved and how changes are approved.
